Johnson State College Athletic Training Mission Statement

The athletic trainers at Johnson State provide medical care to all varsity student-athletes. Our mission is to return injured student-athletes to play as quickly as it is safe to do so and keep our student-athletes healthy. At least one athletic trainer covers all varsity athletic competitions that occur on campus and all contact practices and both athletic trainers are directly involved with every varsity team on campus.

We offer treatments ranging from immediate care of traumatic injuries and injury evaluation to physical rehabilitation through the use of manual therapy, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitative exercise, bracing, and taping techniques.  Whenever it is in the best interest of a student-athlete we make referrals to orthopedic physicians, the Campus Health Center, the Counseling Center, and any other relevent medical professionals to assure that our student-athletes are receiving the best care possible.  We work closely with other healthcare providers to return our Badgers to play after injuries that require care outside of our scope of practice.
